Upcoming Journal Club

The next Community Journal club is scheduled on October 25th from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at Dr. Tobin’s house!  This is a great way to mingle with colleagues, eat dinner and discuss current medical literature on exciting family medicine topics. Please remember to RSVP to arawley@uottawa.ca

Call for Rural Preceptors accepting residents for core FM-Rural Rotations 

The Department of Family Medicine, University of Ottawa is looking for committed family medicine preceptors within the rural areas of Ottawa who are willing to accept residents for core Family Medicine Rural Rotations.  Preceptors are remunerated to compensate for your valuable time – 1000$ per block (4 weeks).

If you are aware of colleagues who are looking for opportunities to be more involved as preceptors and do more teaching in this capacity, please forward me their contact information or have them contact me directly at dtobin@uottawa.ca 

Bi-Annual Community Preceptor’s Meeting Summary

On the evening of October 17th, Dr. Tobin hosted dinner and chaired the bi-annual Community Preceptors Meeting. This is a formal open forum meeting to discuss updates and improvements to our Community Teaching Stream, ranging from administrative improvements to Faculty Development and CME topics.

Thank you to everyone that could make it out to the meeting. The next Community Preceptor meeting is scheduled at the Community Preceptor Retreat on Saturday March 24th from 9:30 – 11:30 AM in Wakefield, Quebec.
