Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine
For over 60 years, the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (SJTUSM) has grown significantly to address the health of its community through medical education and research. The school is comprised of 22 sub-schools and departments, serving 7,000 students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Clinical Medicine Program at SJTUSM is ranked first among all medical schools in China due to its strength in undergraduate medical education at its six clinical medical schools. Within the preferred partnership with the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine, the SJTUSM supports the operations of the Ottawa-Shanghai Joint School of Medicine and fosters collaboration in health research, innovation in medical education and continuing professional development.

Renji Hospital affiliated to the SJTUSM
Established in 1844 as Shanghai's first Western hospital and China's second, Renji Hospital remains one of the most important healthcare providers in Shanghai and China. This general tertiary hospital comprises 2,000 beds, over 3,200 personnel including 450 medical experts, 50 clinical and technology departments and has a total of 341,467 square metres of floor acreage over four campuses around Shanghai. The Renji Hospital hosts the Ottawa-Shanghai Joint School of Medicine and SJTUSM Clinical School for the training of the Anglophone stream of undergraduate medical education students. As part of its affiliation agreement with the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine, Renji Hospital provides clinical training opportunities for uOttawa students.
