PARO, the Professional Association of Residents of Ontario, addresses the professional and educational concerns of doctors-in-training to optimize their working and training experience. Each year, the PARO Awards honour those recognized as leaders in the mission to support and engage medical residents and students.
The recipients of the 2017 PARO Awards, highly distinguished for their leadership, commitment and strengths as teachers, were honoured at a special dinner in May to celebrate their achievement. Dr. Lorne Wiesenfeld, Vice-Dean, attended the event in Toronto to represent the University of Ottawa’s PGME office.
Dr. Andrew Chung, PGY5, Department of Diagnostic Radiology, was the winner of the Excellence in Resident Teaching Award and received an Honours “residents who have provided outstanding clinical teaching experiences to junior housestaff and clinical clerks.”
Congratulations Dr. Chung on your outstanding contributions to the learner experience!
