Dr. Vinay Lodha is a Geriatric Psychiatrist based out of the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group for the past 11+ years. His clinical practice includes assessing and following outpatients, servicing 7 inpatient beds, providing clinical service to long term care facilities in Ottawa, and providing ECT services twice per month. He has also worked in rural outreach for a number of years during the last decade. Dr. Lodha is clinical lead of the Geriatric Outpatient Team in the department of Geriatric Psychiatry at the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group.
Dr. Lodha is also a member of the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry and Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa. He has supervised numerous medical students, resident trainees and clinical fellows. Dr. Lodha has given many lectures on various Geriatric Psychiatry topics on a local and national level. Dr. Lodha completed his B.Sc.(H) in Environmental Biology with distinction at Queen's University in 1997, M.D. at the University of Manitoba in 2001, and residency/fellowship (psychiatry/geriatric psychiatry) at the University of Ottawa in 2006. He has completed his Canadian fellowship exam in Psychiatry (2006) and Geriatric Psychiatry (2013 which was the inaugural year).
Dr. Lodha is married to Dr. Chetna Tailor (Endocrinologist) and they have 2 beautiful children together.
