Background

The uOttawa Flow Cytometry Core Facility was one of the first core facilities to be established at the Faculty of Medicine in 2008. Located at Roger Guidon Hall at the Smyth Campus, the facility at the time consisted of a single flow cytometer, a Beckman Coulter FC500 analyzer, and was utilized by a handful of researchers. Over a decade later, the core facility has expanded significantly to support over 50 research labs from different faculties at uOttawa with its affiliated institutions, as well as external academic research institutes and industry across Canada and the United States. Our current fleet of instruments consists of 4 analyzers and 2 cell sorters (see “Instruments” section for more details).
