Targeted: to enable rural physicians and nurses to update knowledge and skills in emergency medicine. We also welcome pharmacists, administrators and medical learners.
Relevant: we emphasize best practice and evidence-based medicine, including considerations for safe patient transfer. Speakers are practicing emergency physicians who understand the rural practice context.
Needs-based – we work with your Chief to select and tailor topics to your needs; this is not a one-size-fits-all program.

Community Emergency Medicine Outreach (CEMO) Simulation Day: High-fidelity Resuscitation Skills
A 1-day, hands-on course designed for community physicians looking to enhance practical skills in resuscitation. Participants learn and practice Crisis Resource Management skills to improve teamwork in resuscitation cases. Procedural skills are honed through high-fidelity simulation cases and skill stations.
Located at the University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Centre.
Offered at the National Capital Conference on Emergency Medicine in February.
