Associate Professor of Radiology Dr. Carlos Torres receives CRF/CAR Leadership Scholarship
The Faculty of Medicine would like to congratulate Dr. Carlos Torres of the Department of Radiology for being named one of three recipients of the Canadian Association of Radiologists’ (CAR) Leadership Scholarship this year.
This scholarship supports the selected CAR members with their continued education in developing leadership skills that allow them to shape the future of radiology through elevated quality assurance and improved patient care.
Along with fellow scholarship winners Dr. Kirsteen Burton (University of Toronto) and Dr. Faisai Khosa (University of British Columbia), Dr. Torres will have the opportunity to attend the CRF/CAR Leadership Course in Radiology taking place this year from April 18-19 in Montreal.
Dr. Carlos Torres has been an associate professor of radiology at the University of Ottawa and a staff neuroradiologist at The Ottawa Hospital since 2008. He completed a two-year neuroradiology fellowship at McGill University in Montreal before joining the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at The Ottawa Hospital in Ottawa.
From 2010 to 2016, Dr. Torres was the Director of the Royal College Accredited Neuroradiology Fellowship Program. He has been the director and co-director of more than a dozen CME Courses in Europe, North America and Latin America and he is currently the chair of the International Scientific Committee for the Ibero Latin American Society of Neuroradiology (SILAN).
