Dr. Michel Chrétien of uOttawa and Université de Montréal joins the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame
Congratulations to Dr. Michel Chrétien, professor at uOttawa Faculty of Medicine and emeritus senior scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, for being inducted into the 2017 Canadian Medical Hall of Fame.
Founded in 1994, the Hall of Fame has now recognized 132 Canadians for their outstanding contributions to medicine. Dr. Chrétien was inducted on May 4 in Quebec City. He was amongst five other laureats this year revolutionized health care through research, law and community involvement.
Dr. Chrétien is the founder of the Ottawa Institute of Systems Biology at the uOttawa Faculty of Medicine. He is also a professor emeritus at the Université de Montréal where he is the Director of the Functional Endoproteolysis Laboratory.
With over 600 publications in print, Dr. Chrétien was once the seventh most cited scientist in the world. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and an Officer of the Order of Canada. He is also a recipient of the McLaughlin Medal from the Royal Society of Canada.
