This year’s Homecoming Weekend at the uOttawa Faculty of Medicine welcomed graduates from 1952 to 2017 and celebrated with three days of activities featuring a Dean’s Reception, an awards ceremony, a golf tournament, a professional development session, and a hearty brunch.

For the first year ever, students from the Faculty’s Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME), Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Ottawa-Shanghai Joint School of Medicine and Translational and Molecular Medicine programs all attended the same orientation, where they were able to meet peers across many specializations and disciplines.
Medical students from Shanghai visit uOttawa to begin their medical studies
Thirteen students from the Ottawa-Shanghai Joint School of Medicine (OSJSM) based in China arrived at uOttawa Faculty of Medicine for the 2017 OSJSM summer school that marks the beginning of their medical education. Upon completing the summer school, these students will enroll in the two-week Introduction Unit of the uOttawa UGME program along with first-year MD students at the Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Bernard Jasmin, vice-dean research at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine, and his French colleague, Professor Laurent Schaeffer of the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, are launching a joint international neuromuscular research partnership, thanks to an agreement signed this week.
