uOttawa Faculty of Medicine hosted third annual PGME orientation
The uOttawa Faculty of Medicine’s Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) hosted its third annual orientation session for all new residents on June 30, 2017.
Presentations on professionalism, wellness, teaching of MD students were made along with appearances by the Chief Ottawa Coroner and PARO. Everyone enjoyed networking with their peers, faculty members and leadership.
During the session, Dr. Lorne Wiesenfeld, Vice-Dean of PGME, took time to thank outgoing Dean Dr. Jacques Bradwejn for the tremendous support he provided to PGME during his 11-year tenure. He also welcomed Dr. Bernard Jasmin as Interim Dean, and presented him with the famous “PGME fleece”, making him an official member of the PGME team.
July 1 was the first day of residency training for the 2017-18 cohort. The PGME Office extended a warm welcome to all of its new trainees and wished them great success in their chosen career.
Thanks to all the speakers, volunteers and resident ambassadors for contributing to the success of this event.
