Dr. Alomgir Hossain


Dr. Hossain is a Scientist of the Cardiovascular Research Methods Centre at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and Assistant Professor of the School of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Ottawa. He is also an Adjunct Professor of the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology at the University of Saskatchewan.

Dr. Hossain worked as a Research Analyst (Biostatistician) at the Saskatchewan Health Quality Council and School of Medicine at the Saskatchewan University.  He also taught several years at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon and Concordia University, Montreal as a Sessional Lecturer.

Dr. Hossain completed MSc in Statistics and PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from University of Saskatchewan. He also received MSc in Mathematics from Concordia University, Montreal. He received a Professional Statistician (P.Stat.) accreditation from Statistical Society of Canada (SSC).

Dr. Hossain research interests are in design and analysis of large administrative database and complex survey database, Network Meta-analysis (NMA) and statistical methodology to analyze complex large database.
