Quality Improvement (QI) Symposium/Program Directors Retreat – September 24-25 2018
The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) recently hosted a QI Symposium/Program Directors Retreat on September 24-25 2018 in Toronto. Drs. Elizabeth Muggah, Denice Lewis and Ed Seale attended on behalf of the Department. The event was a great opportunity to share successes and challenges in teaching QI across the country. The event also warmly welcomed several new Program Directors, including our own Dr. Seale. This was the perfect opportunity to laisse with Directors who are more seasoned in their roles. Specific outcomes of the event include the Core Professional Activities of a Family Physician from the perspective of the CFPC. The wheels are in motion to create a document that would define the specific tasks that a resident should be able to accomplish at the end of their residency. They also explored the new accreditation standards and Accreditation Management System platform. We look forward to sharing any updates as these items move forward.
