Undergraduate Program

Happy New Year to all members of the Department, our students, and residents!  Wishing you all the best for 2019.  We have exciting things planned for the upcoming year.

Our first-year students will be starting their community preceptor program placements soon.  Thank you to everyone who will have them coming into their offices.

Postgraduate Program

CaRMS 2019 – Jan 17, 18, 24, 25

CaRMS interviews are taking place on January 17, 18, 24, and 25 2019 at our Departmental Offices (600 and 850 Peter Morand Cres). We appreciate your support during this crucial time to celebrate our program and our city!

Resident Exam Preparation

Exam season in just around the corner! If you feel you need direction or support as you prepare for your exams please be sure to communicate with your primary preceptor. Effective exam preparation is an important key to your success – let us help guide you!

The Canadian Conference on Medical Education – April 13 -16 2019

Learn more about the upcoming Canadian Conference on Medical Education here. The event will take place in Niagara Falls on April 13 -16 2019 and is sure to be a rewarding event for all.

PGY1 Practice Audit Submission – December 1 2018

The PGY1 Practice Audit deadline of November 1 2018 saw a 100% submission rate – well done! A reminder that the next deadline for this project is due no later than April 1 2019.

PGY2 FMRSP Final Report – February 1 2019

All PGY2 Final Reports are due no later than February 1 2019. Reports can be emailed to – don’t forget to cc’d your FMRSP Supervisor upon submission!

Resiliency Committee Multicultural Potluck Lunch for Academic Day – February 8 2019

Please bring your favourite recipes, family traditions and cultural dishes. We encourage everyone to participate and would love to have as many people as possible involved. If your favourite food is chips and salsa or your favorite soft-drink is Pepsi, this is great and we encourage you to bring this!

SOO Exams – February 28 2019

SOO Exams will take place on February 28th 2019. ALL residents will have the chance to perform two practice exams, which will take place at either the Montfort or Bruyere Clinics.

PGY3 Interviews – Congratulations!

We are happy to announce that we will welcome 24 new PGY3s in our upcoming academic year. Thank you to all who participated in the interview and selection process in the recent weeks.  Congratulations to our new PGY3 residents – we are looking forward to this exciting year with you.

Community Teaching

Community Preceptor Retreat: March 23-24, 2019

This year's theme for the Community Preceptor Retreat is, "Trials and Tribulations of Supervising Family Medicine Residents in a Community and Rural Setting." We are looking forward to this opportunity to reflect on our unique roles as community and rural supervisors, and how to broaden our horizons when teaching millennial learners. We are thrilled to have Dr. Lisa Moore planning and presenting at this year’s retreat!
