Biography
Dr. Daniel Myran is a Public Health and Preventive Medicine physician, a Family Physician, and health services researcher. He is a Canadian Institutes for Health Research Fellow at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and an innovation fellow with the Department of Family Medicine. His research focuses on using natural experiments combined with linked health administrative data held at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) to better understand the burden of problematic substance use in Canada and the impacts of public policy. Dr. Myran is currently leading several projects that aim to better understand the health impacts of alcohol and cannabis policy with a focus on their influence on disparities in vulnerable communities. He is also leading several projects focusing on the mental health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on physicians in Ontario. Dr. Myran practices family medicine in the community with an interest in addiction medicine.
