Biography
Year of Entry: 2019
PhD Supervisor: TBD
Personal Background:
I am originally from Hamilton, Ontario, which is where I completed my undergraduate and graduate education at McMaster University. I earned my Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour with a Minor in Biochemistry in 2017. I subsequently earned my Master of Science degree in Neuroscience in 2019. My past education and research experiences have inspired my pursuit of a career that combines medicine and research. I am therefore very excited to be a student of the MD/PhD program at the University of Ottawa!
Research Focus:
My previous research foci have primarily focused on medical education and clinical neuroscience. Some of the research projects I have worked on involved investigating the qualities of effective medical educators in psychiatry and exploring the factors that influence Canadian medical students’ recruitment into psychiatry. More recently, my Master’s thesis investigated emotional memory performance in major depressive disorder during clinical remission. I hope to build upon and expand my previous research experiences throughout my time in the MD/PhD program at the University of Ottawa!
