Dr. Delani Kotarba completed her undergraduate training at the University of Western Ontario, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Toronto and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa in 1992. Having completed her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Ottawa, she has been practicing reproductive medicine since 1994.
Dr. Kotarba is currently an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa and an attending physician at the Ottawa Hospital. She is also a consultant and founding partner of the Ottawa Fertility Centre. She is certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She is also a Licencate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is an active member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society, the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
Dr. Kotarba has received awards for excellence in laparoscopic surgery and medical education. She has been an invited speaker at both national and international meetings and conferences. She is Director of the Royal College-approved Fellowship training program in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Ottawa, and a member of the University of Ottawa Program Directors Committee. She has been an active member of the University of Ottawa Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Training Committee since 1995. Annually, she serves as a judge for the “Canadian Foundation for Women’s Health” grants and is also an invited speaker at the Make A Mark conference preparing Canadian residents for their Royal College specialty examinations in Obstetrics and Gynecology. At the University of Ottawa, she is involved in resident evaluation, OSCE examinations and candidate preparation for the Royal College examination.
Dr. Kotarba’s practice includes all areas of reproductive care, with particular interests in reproductive surgery and in vitro fertilization.
