Dr. Tannys Vause completed her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the University of Manitoba. She then went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alberta and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2008. She completed a two year subspecialty fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Ottawa in 2010.
Dr. Vause is currently an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa, an attending physician at the Ottawa Hospital and a consultant physician at the Ottawa Fertility Centre. She has been the Director of Patient Experience in the department since 2015. She is also certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound.
Dr. Vause has been invited to speak at national and international conferences and is currently an active member of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Committee of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada. Dr. Vause’s practice includes all areas of reproductive and infertility care. She has a particular interest in Patient Education and Patient Experience. She is currently co-investigating a study through the Royal Ottawa Hospital on Sleep Disordered Breathing and Infertility, funded through a Royal Ottawa Hospital University Medical Research Fund Grant.
Dr. Vause stays current in her field through research and sharing best practices with colleagues. She is passionate about counseling couples to optimize their pre-pregnancy health and has co-authored a fitness and healthy lifestyle blog (couplefit.blogspot.ca). Dr. Vause welcomes new patients to her practice and aims to help them reach their goal of achieving a healthy pregnancy.
