This three (3) day conference aims to provide Continuing Professional Development/Continuing Medical
Education for Medical Examiners, Forensic Pathologists, Coroners, Anatomical Pathologists who perform medicolegal post mortem examinations, Cardiac Pathologists, Neuropathologists, Pediatric Pathologists, Fellows-in-training in Forensic Pathology, Cardiac Pathology, Neuropathology and Pediatric Pathology, Residents in Anatomical Pathology, Medical Students, Pathologists' Assistants, Anatomical Pathology Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technologists, Morgue Technicians, Forensic Scientists, Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of Forensic Science, Prosecutors (District Attorneys/Crown Counsels/Crown Attorneys/Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions), Criminal Defence and Civil Litigation Attorneys, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Law Students, Homicide Investigators, Medicolegal Death Investigators, Crime Scene Examiners and Scenes of Crime Officers.
The educational content of the programme will address topical issues in both adult and pediatric forensic pathology under the thematic title of "A View of Forensic and Pediatric Pathology from the Hill: Exploring Issues in the Determination Cause, Mechanism and Manner of Death". The didactic content of the programme will be delivered by an international faculty of expert speakers of diverse backgrounds, experience and interests.

Withdrawal of registration will be refunded minus a 10% cancellation fee of up until May 24, 2020. After May 24, 2020, no refund of registration fees will be granted on requests for cancellation.
Submission of Abstracts
The deadline for the online submission of abstracts is on February 28, 2020 at 11:59 pm. Abstracts can be submitted as either Long Platform (30 mins), Short Platform (15 mins) or Poster Presentation. Notifications on the decisions of abstracts will be sent out to submitters by March 20, 2020. Please click here for instructions on how to submit your abstract.
Accreditation
Accreditation, CME/CPD Credits and Certificates
The event will be accredited by the Office of Continuing Professional Development (OCPD) of the University of Ottawa and will provide Section 1 RCPSC and/or CFPC Mainpro +CME/CPD Credits from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and the College of Family Practitioners of Canada (CFPC). A Certificate of Attendance will be issued to registered participants who attend. However, certificates with CME/CPD credits will only be issued to those who require it and complete the online speaker and programme evaluations through Survey Monkey.
The CME/CPD credits are recognized by the American Medical Association as AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™through reciprocal recognition.
It is the responsibility of the participant to understand their regulatory body’s requirements for CME/CPD credits.

American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators (ABMDI)
The American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators will accept Section 1 RCPSC Mainpro + and AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for medicolegal death investigators.
Validation of Content
The University of Ottawa requires that the educational content of the programme be free from bias and conflicts of interest.

It is the policy of the University of Ottawa to ensure balance, independence; objectivity and scientific rigor are maintained in its continuing medical education programmes. Presenters and planning committee members participating in accredited activities are required to disclose any conflicts of interest or financial relationships with “for-profit entities” such as pharmaceutical organizations, medical device companies, communications firm, or other for-profit funders of the programme.

Conference Dinner
The conference dinner will be a three (3) hour dinner cruise on the Potomac River on the evening of Saturday 20 June, 2019 on the Spirit of Washington at a cost of US$100 per person. The Spirit of Washington is a traditional-style yacht with three interior decks and a rooftop deck. Dinner guests will enjoy a buffet dinner menu and live DJ entertainment whilst traveling south on the river. Seating will be provided through a reserved section of tables on the deck. There will also a series of games on board that include Shuffleboard, Foosball, Jenga and Connect 4. It will be an evening of laughter, fun and entertainment that should not be missed.
The Spirit of Washington will depart from Washington DC. Bus transportation will be provided from the Gaylord National Harbor to and from the site of boarding. The boat boards at 7:00 pm and cruises from 8:00-11:00 pm.
