Biography
Dr. Christine Armour received an MSc in biochemistry in 1997 from the University of Ottawa and graduated from Queen’s University in 2001. After a one-year post-doctoral research with Dr. A. MacKenzie at the CHEO Research Institute, she completed the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons training program in medical genetics at the University of Ottawa in 2008. She spent almost four years working with the Department of Pediatrics at Queen’s University and Kingston General Hospital. Dr. Armour is a clinical geneticist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), a clinical investigator at the CHEO Research Institute and an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Armour’s main interest is non-invasive prenatal testing using next-generation sequencing from cell free DNA, both current and future uses. She is also engaged in the characterization of rare genetic conditions and genotype-phenotype correlations.
