Biography

Dr. Michele Brill-Edwards completed medical school at the University of Toronto in 1974 and her pediatrics residency, with a fellowship in clinical pharmacology, in 1986 at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She has worked in rural general practice in Ontario and as Canada's senior physician responsible for prescription drug regulation at Health Canada. Dr. Brill-Edwards has also worked as a private consultant advocating drug safety. She was a member of the Division of Emergency Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) from 1980 to 1992 and returned to the division in 2002. Dr. Brill-Edwards’ interests include drug evaluation and risk management, drug research policy and ethics.
