Biography

Dr. Jason Brophy completed his medical degree in 1999 and pediatrics residency in 2003 at Memorial University in Newfoundland. He completed a clinical infectious diseases fellowship in 2005 and a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Canadian HIV Trials Network research fellowship in pediatric HIV in 2007 at The Hospital for Sick Children/University of Toronto. Dr. Brophy has a Master’s degree in health research methodology from McMaster University in Hamilton and a diploma of tropical medicine. Dr. Brophy joined the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario's (CHEO) Division of Infectious Diseases in 2008 as a Clinician Investigator. He is the past chair of the Canadian Pediatric AIDS Research Group and current co-lead of the CTN Clinical Care & Management research core. He works part-time as a Clinical Advisor on pediatric HIV for the Clinton Health Access Initiative supporting optimal pediatric HIV treatment in west-central Africa and south-east Asia. Dr. Brophy’s research interests include the epidemiology and clinical care of pediatric/perinatal HIV and congenital CMV infection.
