Dr. Buba completed her Hon. BSc. at the University of Toronto, and her undergraduate medical education at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) in Sudbury, where she was born and raised. She continued with the NOSM pediatric residency program which brought her to CHEO for most of her subspecialty training blocks. Upon completion of her general pediatric residency training, Dr. Buba transitioned into a staff role at CHEO where she has worked for the last 3 years as a hospitalist physician on the inpatient clinical teaching units (CTU). More recently, she has become an active member of the inpatient leadership team. She has an interest in quality improvement and patient safety for which she endeavours to peruse additional training, and will be taking on the role of Director of Quality Improvement for CHEO’s CTUs. She is the Epic Lead for the Division of Pediatric Medicine, and is an Epic Physician Champion. With a desire to hone her leadership skills, Dr. Buba has recently been accepted into the OMA Physician Leadership Development Program beginning this fall. Dr. Buba also has a passion for rural and remote pediatrics and has provided regular locum coverage to Timmins and Sault Ste. Marie. She is an active member of the Ottawa Ukrainian community, and was president of a Ukrainian non-profit organization last year.
