Biography

Dr. Zave Chad graduated medical school from McGill University in 1974. He went on to complete his pediatric residency as well as a fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. After receiving his fellowship, he worked at Hôpital Ste. Justine in the Immunology, Rheumatology Allergy Service and was a clinical associate professor of pediatrics at l’Université de Montréal. He moved to Ottawa in 1996 and currently has a private practice in allergy and clinical immunology. Dr. Chad is a past president of the Quebec Association of Allergists and Clinical Immunologists, the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, a past chair of the Canadian Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Foundation and the Allergy Section of the Canadian Pediatric Society, a past member of the board of directors of AllerGen, National Centre of Excellence. Dr. Chad received the Jerry Dolovitch Award from the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology for contributions to allergy and clinical immunology in Canada. He is currently a medical advisor to Anaphylaxis Canada and a member of the Adverse Reaction to Foods and the Anaphylaxis Committees of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Dr. Chad is also a co-chair of The Anaphylaxis in School and Daycare Settings manual that is distributed to all schools and daycare settings in Ontario. His clinical and research interests include food allergies and anaphylaxis.
