Biography

Dr. Jacqueline Halton completed her medical training at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in 1984. She moved to Hamilton to complete her pediatrics residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at McMaster University in 1987. After a decade in the Hamilton area, she moved to Ottawa and became chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) from 2001 until 2012. Dr. Halton is the senior medical officer for regulatory affairs for the Children’s Oncology Group (US), overseeing oncology clinical trials across Canada. Her clinical expertise is in the treatment of leukemia and thrombosis. Dr. Halton’s national and international research focus is on conducting oncology clinical trials, the use of new oral anticoagulants for the treatment of thrombosis, and bone abnormalities in children with leukemia.
