Biography
Dr. Stuart Harman completed his fellowship training at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in 2011, following a four-year residency in pediatrics at the University of Western Ontario’s London Health Sciences Centre. In 2011, he joined the Division of Emergency Medicine at CHEO and was cross-appointed to the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Harman has been the Co-director of Medical Education for his division since 2015. The majority of his responsibilities in this role centre around the training and education of residents rotating through the CHEO Emergency Department. While primarily a clinician-teacher, Dr. Harman has been actively engaged in research and his current area of study compares antibiotic courses in childhood pneumonia. He also plays a role in simulation-based teaching for trainees and colleagues, PALS course instruction, and community outreach education.
