Biography
Dr. Thomas Kovesi graduated medical school at the University of Ottawa in 1985 and completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Ottawa and Dalhousie University in 1990. He completed a pediatric respirology fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto in 1992. Dr. Kovesi started the respiratory medicine service at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in 1992 and was head of Respiratory Medicine until 2006. He is the director of the pediatric pulmonary function laboratory, co-director of the pediatric cystic fibrosis clinic and education coordinator for the Division of Respirology. Dr. Kovesi has been chair of the Pediatric Respirology Examination Board at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada since 2011. Dr. Kovesi’s clinical interests include asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, muscular dystrophy and aboriginal children’s lung health. Dr. Kovesi’s research interests include aboriginal children’s lung health, indoor air quality, exhaled nitric oxide, asthma and cystic fibrosis.
