Biography
Dr. Curtis Lavoie completed medical school at the University of Calgary in 1993 and residency at Dalhousie University in Halifax in 1995. Since then he has worked as an emergency physician at various pediatric and adult institutions throughout the Maritime provinces and Quebec. Since 2001, he has been based in Ottawa working in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), as well as part time serving a primarily adult population at the Montfort Hospital Emergency Department. He is currently the chair of the CHEO Hospital Green Team, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Ottawa , and a lecturer in the Accademy of Mindfulness and Contemplative Medicine. His clinical and research interests include pediatric constipation, outcome feedback in emergency medicine, mindfulness based stress reduction, and environmental sustainability in health care.
