Biography

Dr. Carmen Liy Wong completed her medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon in Monterrey, Mexico, then her residency in Paediatrics and fellowship in Paediatric Dermatology at the National Institute of Pediatrics (INP) in Mexico City, where she graduated with honours. She was assistant professor and chief of Paediatric Dermatology clinic at the Department of Dermatology of the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon from 2006-2013. After relocating to Canada she  completed 2-year research fellowship and then 2-year clinical fellowship in Paediatric Dermatology at the Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto in July 2018. She has participated as lecturer at national and international meetings and published several papers and chapters books in Pediatric Dermatology. She is also an active member of the Society of Pediatric Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance (PeDRA) and Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association (DEBRA Canada and DEBRA international).  Her main research areas include general pediatric skin conditions, vascular anomalies, morphea, hidradenitis suppurativa and genodermatosis specially epidermolysis bullosa.

She recently joined as an assistant professor at uOttawa and full-time paediatric dermatologist at CHEO.
