Biography

Dr. Sarah Reid completed her medical degree from the University of Ottawa in 1999, followed by a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). She is the director of continuing medical education at CHEO and co-lead of the CHEO Emergency Department Outreach Program. Dr. Reid is involved in a variety of research projects that cover several clinical and educational areas. These include a multi-centre study examining the treatment of pediatric appendicitis, the impact of a medical directive for the treatment of neonatal jaundice, a formal evaluation of the CHEO Emergency Department Outreach Program, and the development and assessment of parent educational initiatives in the CHEO Emergency Department. She is a site investigator for Translating Emergency Knowledge for Kids (TREKK), a national initiative aimed at bringing evidence-based pediatric emergency care to general emergency departments across Canada. Dr. Reid was recently appointed to the emergency medicine examination board for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
