Biography

Dr. Lauren Segal graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. She completed her General Pediatrics training at Saint Justine’s Hospital with the University of Montreal, served as one of the chief residents in her senior year and completed two years of subspecialty training in Pediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. She worked for three years in clinical practice in the Montreal area and founded a specialized allergy clinic at the Verdun Community Hospital. Her primary area of research interest is food allergy and she has published several peer-reviewed articles and written a chapter in Leung’s Pediatric Allergy Textbook. Dr. Segal relocated to Ottawa in 2013 and currently practices in the community in the Broadview Medical Center and at the Bureau des Pédiatres et Allergologues in Gatineau. She is a Lecturer PTA with the University of Ottawa and lectures as part of the core medical curriculum, leads Case Based Learning groups in the Allergy and Immunology unit and welcomes students and residents in her office.
