Gabrielle Weiler BSc, MD, FRCPC

Biography

Dr. Gabrielle Weiler completed an undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry at Queen’s University in 1993. She obtained her medical school training and residency degree from the University of Ottawa in 2000 and continued her subspecialty training until 2002 at McGill University and the University of Ottawa. From 2003 to 2010, she was the program director for the Division of Nephrology at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), running the training program for the fellows and residents rotating through the Nephrology program. As of July 2021 she has taken on this role once again. Dr. Weiler has a strong presence in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate medical education levels. In 2009 she became the Director of the Pediatric Clinical Clerkship program at CHEO. She successfully completed the Health Educators’ Scholar Program (HESP), and being fluently bilingual, teaches in both official languages. Her clinical interests consist of the transitioning of adolescents to adult care, cystic renal disease and prenatal counseling.
