PGME is in the final stages of preparation as it approaches its formal the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) accreditation visit on the week of November 28. This process takes place every eight years across all residency programs.
Residency programs are accredited so that identified standards can be implemented at all training sites to ensure quality and consistency of residency training. Led by the Chair of the uOttawa Accreditation Committee Dr. Asif Doja, internal, external and mini reviews are conducted periodically between these formal visits.
All of the University of Ottawa’s residency programs are accredited by either the RCPSC or the CFPC. The PGME Office recognizes the extra workload placed on reviewers, residents, program directors, and program administrators to prepare for this important initiative. We would like to thank everyone involved and look forward to working together to ensure accreditation success.
