The faculty and staff of the Department of Radiology are skilled diagnostic and therapeutic radiologists and scientists who share a common goal: to provide a rewarding career in medical imaging through the provision of exemplary service to our learners, patients, referring physicians and community. We are members of The Ottawa Hospital, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine. We have a tripartite mandate to provide teaching through undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education activities, research, and clinical services. The department is comprised of the divisions of adult and pediatric radiology, radiation oncology and medical physics. The clinical sections are Abdomen, Breast, Cardiac, Thoracic, Neuro, Interventional Neuro, Interventional Radiology, Emergency/Trauma and Musculoskeletal Imaging.
The support staff of the Department of Radiology are provided with opportunities for growth and development in their fields. The Department of Radiology offers a competitive compensation package and is committed to providing a positive work environment. Support staff are employees of the Physician group. Although most of our support staff have offices within the Ottawa Hospital campuses, employees are not employed but the Ottawa Hospital.
The Ottawa Department of Radiology offers outstanding opportunities for current and future health care practitioners. The Department is responsible for the recruitment and hiring of our physicians as well as overseeing the appointment process in approx. 9 subsections. In these sections, physicians, researchers, educators, administrators as well as future health care professionals work in an open, inclusive, supportive and inspiring culture.
