Completed both undergraduate and graduate studies in medical physics at McMaster University, including co-op work terms at the London Regional Cancer Centre and Princess Margaret Hospital.  Research areas from that time include optics and in vivo trace element analysis.  Joined The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre staff as a resident in 2005 and became a full Medical Physicist in 2008. 

Current research interests include work on developing and improving techniques used for total body irradiation (TBI) and quality assurance and quality control of linear accelerators.  This has included the development of an arc technique that delivers radiation to the patient safely and efficiently.  Has extensive experience working with the TomoTherapy treatment modality, including overseeing and developing quality assurance for the system.   In addition to TBI, TomoTherapy and QC/QA, clinical responsibilities include treatment planning systems and past involvement with brachytherapy.  Teaching areas include basic physics, TBI and TomoTherapy.  Has also served on The Ottawa Hospital’s Joint Health and Safety Committee and has been the President of Ontario Medical Physicists Group for the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada.
