Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) ensures fair treatment and opportunity for all. It aims to eliminate prejudice and discrimination on the basis of an individual or group of individual's protected characteristics.

The Faculty of Medicine’s 2020-2025 Strategic Plan “Leading Innovation for a Healthier World” can only be achieved by creating a research environment where the values of inclusivity, diversity, equity and accessibility (IDEA) are embedded.

On this webpage you will find the necessary training opportunities and resources to successfully address EDI criteria in your day-to-day research practices and in grant applications.

Dashboards on the Self-Identification Data of uOttawa Members

These dashboards provide data on the demographic composition of uOttawa members (students, academic staff, clinicians, staff) by faculty or unit. This information is critical to the EDI context analysis required in research proposals to be submitted to the Tri-agency. To review, scroll down to bottom of webpage on the Special Advisor, Diversity and Inclusion
