Independent Student Analysis

uOttawa Faculty of Medicine’s ISA was prepared by a group of students from the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) Program during the 2016-2017 school year. Given the requirements of CACMS, to submit the documentation in English, the students decided to write the ISA report in English.

CACMS has made English the choice of language because the accreditation is conducted simultaneously by the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) and the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) of the United States. Also, some members of the team who will evaluate the Faculty are English-speaking only. Please rest assured that there are members of the accreditation team who are francophone and they will be there to ensure the interests and spirit of our francophonie are protected.

In order to respect the independent aspect of the ISA, the report has not been translated and is available only in English. The ISA includes concerns on the different aspects of the program that are directly related to accreditation criteria. Please note that the UGME Program responses to these concerns are available in French. On the other hand, the accreditation criteria preceding the responses were not translated. Thank you for your understanding.
