Student Experience
Throughout the years, the DME Office has created opportunities for students to experience practicing rural medicine across Canada. Students have returned to the Faculty of Medicine with an enriched knowledge and newfound appreciation for rural medicine while having enjoyed their time in their host communities, with many expressing an interest in returning to a rural setting.
Student Testimonials
Testimonial 1
"I think working in a rural setting is a great experience that everyone should try. It's definitely a different approach to medicine and is a useful learning experience, as we are often referred patients from rural settings when practicing in academic settings, and it is helpful to know what they are capable of doing and what their limitations are before seeing them."
