Brief outline of the project
The current Leadership curriculum is a longitudinal program across all 4 years of medical school. It is lecture based with sessions on Giving and Receiving Feedback, Conflict Resolution, and Change Management. Students also complete a Multisource Feedback project in years 1 and 3. Currently, the content is mainly delivered didactically, and we are looking to change it to a more hands on approach with small group learning and OSCE sessions.
This past academic year, 2 students have developed a pilot project Leadership training curriculum with more small group sessions and have developed OSCE scenarios to practice leadership skills. They have surveyed the students before and after the interactions.
The project for this summer studentship will be to analyze their data, work on integration into the curriculum and writing up their findings for publication and dissemination.
