Posted on Tuesday, January 7, 2020

In your project proposal, you must include detailed information on your requirements for staff (UGME Operations team members, including Translation Services) which needs to be preapproved by the UGME Office and information technology resources (MedTech) which needs to be preapproved by the IT Governance Committee (ITGC). The UGME Office will not sponsor projects requiring resources that have not been preapproved.

All projects that directly impacts or improves the curriculum will need a decision of implementation date and approval by the Curriculum Content Review Committee (CCRC) to be sponsored for 2020.

Call for projects on Innovation in Undergraduate Medical Education

The 2020 Summer Studentship Program on Innovation in Undergraduate Medical Education is getting underway!

The Undergraduate Medical Education Program is sponsoring 5 projects this summer, providing a $5,000 stipend per project. The goal of the project should be focused on improving the MD Program. Preference will be given to projects that will directly impact or improve the curriculum.

The stipend will be used to pay the salary of a student selected to work on the project, which will last for a period of 10 weeks, to be completed between June 1, 2020 and August 14, 2020.

The first phase of this initiative is to invite supervisors to submit their project proposal by filling out the application form by Sunday, February 2. Participation as a supervisor is restricted to individuals who are affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa.

Students will be invited to apply for the project of their choice, once the projects have been selected.
