Room: Division of Cardiology
Dr. Michael Froeschl received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University (Cambridge, USA) and his medical degree from McGill University (Montreal, Canada). His clinical training includes three years at the University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada) in internal medicine and four years at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (Ottawa, Canada)—three in adult cardiology and a fourth in interventional cardiology. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in internal medicine in 2003 and in cardiology in 2005. He joined the Division of Cardiology at the University of Ottawa as an assistant professor of medicine in 2006. He was admitted as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology in 2009.
Dr. Froeschl’s chief academic interest is medical education. He previously served as cardiology content expert for the undergraduate medical training program at the University of Ottawa. Since July 1, 2013, he has taken over as Director of the Adult Cardiology Residency Training Program. He is also the current chair of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society annual Adult Cardiology Trainee Review Program. In 2011, he completed a master’s degree in medical education at Maastricht University (Maastricht, the Netherlands), supported by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Fellowship for Studies in Medical Education.
