Dr Felipe Moretti

Dr. Felipe Moretti obtained his medical degree from the University of Caxias do Sul in Brazil in 1995. In 1998, he completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) at Femina Hospital - Grupo Hospitalar Conceição in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Dr. Moretti has been board certified in OB/GYN since 1998 with the Brazilian Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics Associations. Dr. Moretti’s primary interest was focused on fetal medicine, which led him, in 2007, to our Fellowship Program in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital.

Dr. Moretti excelled during his three years within the program. During the first year, he narrowed his training to ultrasound and prenatal invasive diagnosis. Additionally, in 2010, Dr. Moretti obtained his board certification as a fetal medicine specialist from the Brazilian Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics Associations. By the time Felipe entered his final year of fellowship, he had been promoted to the position of junior consultant in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and was subsequently invited to join the Maternal Fetal Medicine Group Practice in 2011 as a full-time consultant.

Dr. Moretti has also been appointed as assistant professor of the Department of OB/GYN at the University of Ottawa since November 2011. Since January 2014, he has been appointed as associate program director of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program. His main interest is in ultrasound in fetal brain and a dedicated Fetal Neurology Clinic has been launched in February 2014. He plays an important role in ultrasound education training and has also been devoting his time to medical education lecturing undergraduate medical students and providing clinical and ultrasound training to fellows and residents. Felipe’s keen interest in postgraduate medical education inspired him to develop an interactive ultrasound web-based training program which was launched in late 2012. Since January 2015, he has been appointed as program director of the OB/GYN Ultrasound Fellowship.
